Slenderman!

So "The Slender man" Seems to be making quite a big comeback around the internet... so I thought Id educate the people who havent heared of him before on who he is.

"Slender Man (a.k.a Slenderman) is a mythical creature often depicted as a tall, thin figure wearing a black suit and a blank face. According to the legend, he can stretch or shorten his arms at will and has tentacle-like appendages protruding from his back. Depending on the interpretations of the myth, the creature can cause memory loss, insomnia, paranoia, coughing fits (nicknamed “slendersickness”), photograph/video distortions and can teleport at will."

Recently a basic graphic horror game called "Slender" was released for free on a number of websites, where you play as a character in the woods, equipped with only a flash light and have to try to find 8 pieces of paper somewhere in the wooded area... after the 1st page is collected "The Slender man" Begins his hunt, you have to try find all 8 pages before he gets you! Playing it at night is absolutely terrifying!

1/8 Pages that need to be collected in the game.

A number of Youtube videos of people attempting to collect all 8 pages has been uploaded on youtube needless to say they are hilarious... a few of my favorites are below

And for those interested in the game (I suggest you play it at night if your not a pussy)

Curiosity killed the cat!

So Im back! and I guess theres no better topic to start with than the mars rover "Curiosity".

For those of you who dont know;

"The Curiosity rover is a robotic, car-sized Mars rover currently exploring Gale Crater, near the equator of Mars. " http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curiosity_rover

The rover, launched on November 26th 2011 successfully landed on mars  August 6, 2012 (Monday).

NASA puts the cost of the Curiosity mission at $2.5 billion, which includes spacecraft development, science investigations, and the cost of launch and operations.

The spacecraft approached Mars at 8,000 miles per hour, then, when it hit the top of Mars' atmosphere, gravity pulled it in at about 13,200 mph. With its "sky crane" landing technique, the rover slowed to 1.7 mph. as it touched down!

Curiosity landed on target, at the foot of a mountain three miles tall and 96 miles across inside the Gale Crater!

The rover has 6 Main objectives:
  1. Determine the mineralogical composition of the crater surface and near-surface geological materials.
  2. Attempt to detect chemical building blocks of life (biosignatures).
  3. Interpret the processes that have formed and modified rocks and soils.
  4. Assess the long timescale (i.e., 4-billion-year) Martian atmospheric evolution processes.
  5. Determine present state, distribution, and cycling of water and carbon dioxide.
  6. Characterize the broad spectrum of surface radiation, including galactic radiation, cosmic radiation, solar proton events and secondary neutrons.

Below are a few of the first images to be recieved from the rover!

Octoberfest 2011!

So octoberfest is finally here... Its been open around 7 days now and I've been twice! so thought Id make a post letting you all know how amazing the experience was!

For those of you living under a rock, Oktoberfest is a 16–18 day beer festival held annually in Munich, running from late September to the first weekend in October. Only beer which is brewed within the city limits of Munich is allowed to be served in this festival. A litre jug of beer, called a "Mass", is expensive at 8,90 €.

In 2010 beer consumption hit a new record of a staggering 7 million Litres, drinking performance was on form as usual, with visitors guzzling down an average of 1.1 litres each during the two-week event.

Octoberfest waitresses carry upwards of 5 beers at a time!
with each glass weighing approx. 6lbs.

We arrived in munich at 10am to find that majority of the streets and train station was already flooded with people marching towards the festival. As we arrived at the entrance, there was already evidence of people being extremely drunk after carrying crates of beer on the train! Luckily we arrived just as a large family were leaving so we managed to secure a spot... Unlike previous years in octoberfest beers were also being served to people standing up (Normally you must find a seat before drinking). By mid-day and €60 down (6 Lires of beer) We decided to stumble around the attractions and see what germany had to offer female wise (they offer alot let me assure you)

By 5pm and after lurking around in the boiling sun meeting people from all over the globe and one of our friends being completely unconsious we decided to try make our way home! Luckily enough we had one sober person with us so we managed to get home just fine!

Arrested for Trolling?!

So guys Im back after a few weeks of not posting... The reason for this being I was busy irl as the german beer tents are now opening up so tis party time over here atm.

While browing the internet today I came across a news report of somebody who was arrested for "Trolling"

An internet ‘troll’ who posted vile abuse on Facebook memorial sites dedicated to dead children was jailed yesterday.
Sean Duffy caused ‘untold distress’ by mocking a 15-year-old schoolgirl who committed suicide,  leaving obscene messages and videos on a condolence page set up by her family.
The 25-year-old – the son of a BBC comedy writer who worked with Terry Wogan – also hijacked tribute websites of three other children he had never met.
In one of the first cases of its kind, the autistic loner was sentenced to 18 weeks behind bars and banned from using social networking sites for five years.

Now my personal view of this is that even tho he said some pretty abusive stuff it is still within his rights to post these comments (Free speach) And so the policing of the last free media begins, how do you decide what is offensive and what isnt? and who gets to decide? as everybody has different views . True what this kid has done is terrible, but facebook and youtube both have "flag" systems where abusive and offensive materials are reviewed and if needed removed. Things like this are just laying down the foundation for England to turn out like china. Jail time for something like this is silly, it takes up court time and tax payers money, a trip to the police station and a 5 year ban of internet would of been a much better way to handle this, the kid will never be able to get a job after this, why destroy another life of some one so young?

the removal and policing of freedom of speech on the Internet is becoming a real worry. There are real reasons for this - the paid media does not like the freedom and anonomity of the Internet, and perceives it as a threat. They collude with governments to police the Internet, so that the real truths cannot be made public, and we can only see the truths published in the paid media that the government and media want us to see. Consider wikileaks. Real journalism. Not the BS crap that the paid media presents to us. True, what this guy has done is horrid, but it is not worth a jail sentence.

Dreams!

So following a post on Hannahs blog (http://hannahseverydaymusings.blogspot.com/) about dreams and their meanings, and after the terrifying dream I had last night I thought I'd make a post about it for all you bloggers.

First a bit of background info on myself, I have friends that are highly involved in drug distrabution in the UK and whenever Im with them violence is more than likely to follow. (Dont ask me why Im still friends with them cuz I honestly couldnt answer)

As you can guess being in the UK people carrying guns isnt a serious worry, the biggest problem is knives. Now Im not sure why I had this knightmare but its left me worrying and kept me distracted all day!

The nightmare starts off with one of my friends being unconscious on the pavement (For reasons unknown to me) and another friend trying to help him up... 20 meters behind them is a single story building slightly shrouded with dark clouds, I pull up in a car in some sort of panic, aware of danger in the building ahead, when suddely bullets start flying left right and centre from the building, currently all the bullets are directed at my 2 friends, the conscious friend gets hit multiple times and falls down, as I go to drive the car over to stop the bullets, 3 bullets fly in through the front windscreen, 1 missing, 1 slicing my arm, and one directly in the chest. At this point the dream is so vivid I can still remember what it felt like as the life was slowly draining out of me. Next thing I make up in casualty with only a scar on my chest and them telling me I was fine.

                                                                        HIT!!! Man Down!

Now obviously it was only a dream... In real life the bullet would most likely have killed me. I woke up in a panic and with a extreme sense of distress I remember at the time a strange feeling that I knew that was how I was going to die in real life, even through the day I had this eerie feeling like something wasnt right! it would be fair to say this dream disturbed me pretty badly.

What the bullet felt like goin through my chest

Anyone else have any weird dreams?
